The advantages to working with a life coach!

As a life coach myself, I obviously hope that others will see the advantages to working with a life coach.

I want to tell you how much working with a life coach has benefited me, hence why I decided to become a life coach myself.

In 2015, I was having a very tough year- professionally and personally and an email came through from a coaches coach- her name was Erica Quam and she was a coach who helped guide college coaches through their careers as well as help them in current situations they were facing with teams they coached. She had a lot of online education as well as one on one coaching sessions, group sessions and Summit retreats where coaches got together for a few days in person to learn, grow, brainstorm and develop a coaching community.

I saw her email and decided to hit reply and ask her what programs she was offering. That was the start of our coaching relationship and I have worked with her every since.

Working withy Erica has helped me have a better understanding of team dynamics, individual communication styles, leadership roles amongst team members as well as guiding young athletes through the trials and tribulations of balancing a heavy academic workload with the expectations of being an elite athlete.

I learned about myself as a coach- what my style is and where I needed to develop. I learned how to work through some tough situations as well as how to properly celebrate the wins and accomplishments along the way. I developed routines such as weekly check-ins with myself, our assistant coach and the team members to keep communication and expectations consistent.

The benefits of working with a life coach have been immeasurable for me.

So why would you work with a life coach? And what kind of coach should that be?

If you are feeling stuck in a situation in your life- maybe a job, a friendship, a habit, a relationship with someone else or a inner critic that keeps you from being kind to yourself, a life coach may be of great benefit you.

There are many kinds of life coaches- there are career coaches, executive coaches, communication coaches, health and wellness coaches, somatic coaches and many others. So in finding a life coach, it is best to look for someone who is a fit for what you are looking for and versed in what you are looking to untangle.

What kind of coach am I? I am a coach with a holistic approach in helping clients work through what is getting them stuck in moving forward. I have a background in athletics and coaching at the collegiate level which has given me a unique skills set working with college aged student athletes. I have helped build strong team cultures while meeting each player where they are and helping guide them to their individual goals. I do not just coach golf, I coach people. I coach people to be the best version of themselves every day while gaining skill sets to help them in their futures.

How can I help you? I can help you identify what areas in your life you are stuck- a mindset, an inner critic, a habit, a person or an array of others things that are impeding your forward movement. We, together, can untangle that situation and see a way forward. We co-create a space where you will gain tools through different exercises and practices that can take you to where you want to go.
